BioTek Instruments Establishes Office in United Kingdom

BioTek Instruments, Inc., continues their global expansion in the microplate-based technology market with the establishment of BioTek Instruments Ltd. in the United Kingdom. The new organization will focus on growing BioTek's brand and direct customer base in the UK while supporting the efforts of Thermo Fisher UK related to BioTek's microplate instruments and technologies.

Mr. Mike Todd and Mr. Colin Fallowfield, co-founders of Northstar Scientific Ltd. (Leeds, UK), have been associated with BioTek for over 10 years, and have been named as Directors of BioTek Instruments Ltd. Each will apply extensive scientific market experience to their new positions. Under their leadership, UK customers will receive a superior level of product knowledge, pre- and post-sale technical support and application assistance at the local level.

Gary Barush, Director of Marketing & Sales at BioTek Instruments, Inc., will manage the office transition, noting, "The combination of Mike and Colin's knowledge of the UK market, together with our cutting-edge products should prove invaluable to our growing customer base in the UK."

Mr. Todd studied for degree in Applied Chemistry at University of Nottingham and has worked for a number of instrument companies, originally with Perkin Elmer selling a variety of analytical and life science instruments, primarily specialising in UV/visible spectroscopy and other optical systems. He co-founded Northstar Scientific Ltd in 2002 with Mr. Fallowfield.

Mr. Fallowfield studied for a degree in Applied Biology and Biochemistry at University of East London followed by several years as a Protein Biochemist & Kineticist in Drug Discovery at Glaxo Smith Kline Research. He co-founded Northstar Scientific Ltd in 2002 with Mr. Todd.
