BioTek Participates in AHA Heart Walk 2014

Company adds initiatives to surpass 2013 fundraising

September 2, 2014, WINOOSKI VT, USA — BioTek is supporting the American Heart Association with a team of employees participating in this year’s Heart Walk at Oakledge Park in Burlington on September 27th. The AHA Heart Walk promotes health and wellness in the workplace with donations funding research for cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

In 2013, BioTek employees raised over $17,000 through fundraising and donations, and walked a brisk 3 miles with hundreds of other Vermonters as part of the 2013 Vermont Heart Walk.

To raise additional funds for this year’s walk, BioTek will be conducting a social media blitz and will donate $1 for every new Facebook “like” received on their company page during the month of September.

According to their website, the American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest, largest voluntary organization devoted to fighting cardiovascular diseases and stroke. They fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies and provide lifesaving tools and information to save and improve lives. Learn more about the AHA by visiting www.heart.org.
